Nature's Excess... by symbiandj Nature's Excess... by symbiandj
Jog Falls - India. At Over 800ft (250m) it's a real beast during the monsoons. You can see the mist rising right by the falls merging with the fog above. The mist and fog was so dense that you couldn't see anything at the bottom and I had to wait quite a while for it to clear up to get a shot at this. I was lucky to get this shot as normally, they cut back the water flow to power generators! Heave rains force them release water from the reservoir. Unfortunately due to such heavy rains, small villages and towns in its path were flooded.

I'd wager that it's the less publicized places that are the most worth visiting!

I need to go there... like now :eager:
The sheer power of the falls looks incredible! I love how the mist/fog are rising up from beneath and the landscape itself is just incredible
Very nice capture!

Yeah beautiful place ! Now that I think about it, I'm happy that I got that view. They normally cut down the water flow for generating electricity. Its only after heavy rains, they need to let some of the water out ! The best part is, its never too crowded because its so remote! :P
Thanks for the comment though!

yeah it was .. especially cause, normally the falls is not even half as massive as this. it got worse cause of the rains..

Wow... just look at all of that fog!

Um... maybe you could adjust your white balance a bit?

What do you mean white balance ?
I actually increased the contrast and brightness.. cause all that fog actually makes this a bit dull when looked thru the camera :P

White balance.

Cause the color of white changes just as you change your lightsource (sunnlight, cloudy, flourescent, incandescent, shade, etc)
